While no one knows precisely what the New York Giants' plan is going forward, anyone can glean that the main reason why they traded star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns this past week was because of his history of having a questionable attitude.

Known for being a locker-room distraction, Beckham has, at times, said things in public that have infuriated the Giants front office and coaching staff, and there have been some off-the-field incidents where Beckham has gotten into some trouble.

So, is it possible that Beckham could become an issue rather than an asset for the Browns?

Cleveland quarterback Baker Mayfield does not think that will be the case, as he thinks Beckham will fit perfectly fine in the Browns' locker room and has supporting evidence from Beckham's former Giants teammates to prove it:

“From Saquon (Barkley) and Sterling Shepard, (who) I’m very close with, I know exactly who OBJ is inside the locker room and who he is to his teammates,’’ Mayfield said, according to Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer. “That’s the most important thing. People can have their attitudes and perspective on it, but he’s himself, and he also has his teammates’ backs.”

One thing you cannot deny about Beckham is his talent.

The 26-year-old earned Pro Bowl selections in each of his first three seasons and was on a historic pace before injuries got the better of him over the last two seasons.

Beckham missed the last four games of the 2018 campaign due to a quad issue, and in 2017, he appeared in just four contests as a result of a broken ankle.
