The New York Giants have taken everyone by surprise on Tuesday by pulling the trigger on a blockbuster trade to send superstar wideout Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

The speculation surrounding Beckham's future with the Giants leads all the way back to before he signed the record-breaking deal with the team. The superstar wideout seemed like he had one foot out the door with the franchise ready to push him right through, but somehow a deal was able to get done securing his future, but obviously, that future will now be in Cleveland with a promising young quarterback in Baker Mayfield.

Clearly, even with Beckham and budding star Saquon Barkley leading the way, the Giants still struggled this past season. This may have prompted the team to make a move this offseason with teams interested in Beckham's services.

As for the Browns, this is a game-changing move. Cleveland took a step forward this past season finding their quarterback of the future in Mayfield and now have found their go-to receiver alongside Jarvis Landry. It appears the Browns had to part with a pair of draft picks as well as Jabrill Peppers in this deal, according to Albert Breer.

Considering the Browns' position and the team coming just short of the playoffs this past season after going winless the previous year, Cleveland appears to be in win-now mode, especially with all the teams in the AFC North going through transition periods this year.

Last year, Beckham played 12 games for the Giants catching 77 passes while racking up 1,052 yards and six touchdowns.
