There's a lot of excitement around this Cleveland Browns team, and for good reason. The Browns looked great down the stretch last year, and Baker Mayfield will now have a full offseason as the starter. Freddie Kitchens, who ran the offense late last year, has now taken over as head coach, and the team traded for Odell Beckham Jr. this offseason. Another player who is very excited about the upcoming season is Damarious Randall.

The safety is heading into the final year of his contract, and he would rather stay in Cleveland than test the free agent market next spring.

“I want to finish my career up here in Cleveland. I love it here: the fans, the coaches, everybody here in charge. I just love Cleveland,” Randall said Tuesday to reporters, per Josh Edwards of 247Sports.

Randall was originally drafted in the first round by the Packers in 2015. Green Bay shipped him last offseason as part of the DeShone Kizer trade. Randall has been vocal about his love for Cleveland ever since, and he has become a fan favorite.

Randall said there was something special about the city that became apparent to him right away.

“It was something when I got here. Just the feel of being here, just the fans how they were taking everything after coming off the 0-16 season. Just the love and support that they had for us. That is something, playing for a football town, football state, that was very, very special to me.”

Randall started all 15 games he played for the Browns last season, and received solid grades from Pro Football Focus. As such, the Browns would probably like to keep him in the fold as much as he wants to stick around.
