The Deshaun Watson trade has put a massive target on the Cleveland Browns organization. Trading for a quarterback whose number of lawsuits over sexual misconduct against him continues to grow — and then giving him the most guaranteed money ever in an NFL contract — had made the team look undesirable to many. This wasn't the case for Jadeveon Clowney, though.

In fact, the trade has the opposite effect on Clowney, who played for Cleveland last year and played with Watson for two seasons with the Houston Texans. The 29-year-old pass rusher told reporters that he decided to re-sign with the Browns because Watson ended up there.

The Browns signed Watson to a $230 million contract extension after trading a boatload of draft picks to the Texans. They have no intention to pull the plug on either transaction even as Watson faces a potentially massive suspension from the league. Placing such an insane amount of confidence in someone with such a gross past has a very high likelihood of not ending well. In at least Clowney's case, it has helped the organization.

Clowney said that having Watson is really helpful for defense, as he allows the offense to remain on the field and gives the defenders more time to catch their breaths. Although the three-time Pro Bowler said that he liked what Cleveland was already doing, bringing in a friend of his helped seal the deal.

Having Clowney back alongside Myles Garrett will be very helpful for the Browns as they look to get back to the playoffs.
