Owners across the NFL have made statements on the topic of racial injustice this offseason. Jimmy Haslam of the Cleveland Browns offered his views. As the Browns begin training camp, Haslam opened up about social justice protests, per Tom Withers of the Associated Press.
Jimmy Haslam said we're missing "thoughtful dialogue" in regards to reasons for protests. Dee Haslam adds there's been a loss of "civil discourse." #Browns will support whatever decisions players make as far as kneeling for anthem etc.

Back in June, following the unfortunate death of George Floyd in police custody, the entire world centered their focus on racial issues in America. Furthermore, athletes in all major sports shared their opinion on the matter at hand.
At the same time, there were protests, whether they be peaceful or not, that took place in countries around the globe. While people continue to protest for racial injustice, Haslam seemingly believes everyone should create a dialogue instead of protesting. However, it's fair to argue that the people still protesting are continuing the conversations that need to be had.
Even though he's questioning the motive of the protesters, Haslam will support players that kneel during the national anthem this season. Besides the Browns, it's expected that all 32 teams will have players and coaches kneel during the anthem. Adrian Peterson, the veteran running back for the Washington Football Team, was one of the first players to share that he'll kneel in 2020.
When Donald Trump was elected president, it was revealed that Haslam contributed to Trump's campaign. Trump strongly believes players shouldn't kneel during the anthem due to it being a ‘disrespectful' act toward the flag. Therefore, it's a bit of a surprise that Haslam is taking the stance he is despite his affiliation with Trump.
