With the NFL Trade Deadline here, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James sent a message to Cleveland Browns receiver Odell Beckham Jr. After all, LeBron is famously a fan of… well, outside of being a frontrunner, he probably also likes teams from his home stat.

Let's digress. Here's the superstar's tweet to the Browns star, inferring he needs to be freed from a team that was supposed to be contenders this season.

This is some real NBA tomfoolery. While the NFL Trade Deadline usually comes and goes without absolutely bonkers trades — though Von Miller would like to have a few words with that idea — maybe Odell Beckham Jr. is going to get out of dodge before dodge gets him.

Nonetheless, LeBron James campaigning for a player who operates on his “hometown” team to leave said team is a bit weird. Obviously, LeBron is one of those guys who prefers player empowerment over guys cheering on owners and front offices (which is always a big weird).

All that being said, the Lakers star better be careful what he wishes for. Maybe the Cleveland Browns will appease The King's demands, but it doesn't mean they will trade Odell Beckham Jr. to a team with a good gunslinger. I mean, he could end up with the Denver Broncos, where talented skill position players go to die because Vic Fangio apparently loves being awful at coaching football.
