In his rookie campaign, Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett showed plenty of flashes of promise to quickly develop into a budding star in the league.

Garrett's continued work in the NFL offseason ahead of his second year has him quite confident that he can display some vast improvement in the 2018 season, according to Pat McManamon of ESPN.

“Ten times better (than 2017), 15 times better,” Garrett said with a smile at the team's golf outing about how much he can improve.

The 22-year-old had put together a strong rookie year where he had 7.0 sacks with 31 tackles, a forced fumble and fumble recovery in 11 games. Garrett had missed the first four games of the year due to an ankle injury that he suffered after a teammate fell on him just prior to the season opener. He had also missed the team's game in London due to a concussion.

His high level of production in the contests that he did play do give off the sense that he would have been able to push well beyond a double-digit sack total in a full-slate 16 game season. He will have a greater opportunity to do that behind what appears to be an improved roster around him on that side of the ball. Garrett will likely continue to draw a significant amount of attention due to his sheer size at 6-foot-4 and 272 pounds that had often led to him being double-teamed by opposing offensive lines.

Although injuries are something to keep an eye on moving forward in his career, Garrett has demonstrated that he has promising talent to be a cornerstone of the defensive front for the next decade. This upcoming season could not only be a major step toward proving that he can be just that for Cleveland but also earn the reputation as one of the top young stars at the position.
