The Cleveland Browns have not been shy about a potential turnaround in the 2018 NFL season. Fans have been granted access to some of the inner workings to their rebuild with the team being featured on HBO's Hard Knocks.

However, an awkward encounter between head coach Hue Jackson and offensive coordinator Todd Haley has raised some concern about the chemistry in Cleveland. According to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk, Haley is adamant that he supports any decision Jackson ultimately makes:

“The great thing about here is coach Jackson gives us assistant coaches the opportunity to speak our opinion,” Haley said, via quotes distributed by the team. “Ultimately, it is his decision of what he wants to do, and I will 100 percent support it. It is not always the case where assistants get to voice and opinion or thoughts. Some of them he is going to take. Some of them he is not. Whatever decision is made, I am 100 percent behind.”

It may appear as though Haley is attempting to do some damage control after a heated back-and-forth between the two on the premiere episode. The argument stemmed from Jackson's decision to give the veterans a day off. Haley was not happy about it.

Regardless, it is all part of the process. There is an understanding of how it may take time for a new player to get acquainted with the team. However, little is said about the arrival of new coaches. Haley is coming off a stellar tenure with the Pittsburgh Steelers and is hoping to replicate that success on offense. This could be why he wanted to take advantage of every opportunity he can ahead of the regular season.

Both Jackson and Haley will have their work cut out for them this year. Having an open dialogue among the coaching staff is vital to making the necessary adjustments throughout the season.
