It goes without saying that the Cleveland Browns have been stuck in a rut for quite some time now. However, there is a newfound sense of optimism surrounding the team going into the 2018 NFL season.

For starters, they finally have a legitimate quarterback under center in Tyrod Taylor. It appears Taylor is intent on giving the city of Cleveland a winning football team, via Bill Bender of Sporting News:

“It's a city that loves football. The organization has maybe gotten a bad wrap over the past couple of year but worldwide, they're known for football. This city deserves a winning team.”

Taylor's comments are what Browns fans have been yearning for over the past two decades. However, things finally seem to be going in the right direction for the Browns.

Cleveland spent most of the offseason building a team that could potentially compete in the AFC North Division. At the forefront of their optimism is the arrival of Taylor. Although the Browns have spent the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft on quarterback Baker Mayfield, there is no question that Taylor will be the starter going into the season.

Despite a tumultuous 2017 campaign, he managed to lead the Buffalo Bills to their first playoff appearance in nearly two decades. However, it became clear that his time in Buffalo was coming to an end and the Browns wasted no time in bringing him aboard. The pressure is now on Taylor to see if he can end Cleveland's playoff drought as well.
