With former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski now officially back in the fold as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it didn't take long for the headlines to start rolling back out. Most recently, longtime NFL defensive back DeAngelo Hall made quite the bold statement about Gronkowski.

Although “Gronk” is no doubt headed for the Pro Football Hall of Fame one day, Hall still managed to make an argument on behalf of one of his former Washington Redskins teammates in Jordan Reed.

“Reed was unguardable when he was at full health, which, unfortunately, wasn't often,” Hall said, via NFL.com. “I can say with full confidence that I'd take a healthy Reed over almost every single tight end I've ever played against — even Rob Gronkowski. Gronk is a great player, but he didn't strike fear into me at the line of scrimmage. He's big and physical, but I knew Gronk could never run by me. Reed could run by defenders on every play thanks, in large part, to his basketball background. I'm telling you, basketball guys who play football are different animals.”

Even with Gronkowski encountering some injury trouble of his own during his NFL playing career, Reed has just simply been unable to stay on the field as of late. With his professional football career seriously derailed by injury after injury, the world will just never know what could have been in terms of how talented Reed truly is.
