Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Devin White had a standout career with the LSU Tigers and the Pro Football Focus numbers showed it.

PFF gave him an overall grade of 90.0 and a run defense grade of 73.3. He also received a tackling grade of 70.9 and allowed opponents a passer rating of 87.6.

It's no surprise that White has such a high grade because he was one of the best players last year in college football. In 2018 he had 123 tackles which was the highest in the SEC.

White knew going into the draft he might be in play for the Oakland Raiders at four, but he knew he wasn't slipping past five because Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians promised him that before the draft.

“I knew I was in play with the Raiders at (No. 4 overall), but coach Bruce told me if I was on the board at five he was going to take me,” White said via nola.com. “That was my most-kept secret from the media. I just never knew if the Raiders were going to take me or not.”

White has a lot of respect for Arians and knows that Arians has a good idea of who a good pro is, and that's exactly what he wants to be.

“You know he knows when he’s around a great player. That’s one of the reasons I’m so excited, because I want to be a great pro.”

If White can play the way he did during his college days at LSU he has all the makings of one of the best defensive players in the league.
