April 1st is famously known as April Fools Day. You know, the day where a lie is passed off as a joke? Anyway, April 1st is a rough day for media, as nothing can really be taken seriously. However, some still are capable of finding some fun within the day, especially in the sports world. Julian Edelman, star wide receiver for the New England Patriots, dropped a tweet hinting at a reunion with Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski with a tweet indicating he might be going to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The fake news garnered enough interest to generate a buzz in the sporting world, as the idea of Edelman joining the Buccaneers is not outside the realms of possibility. Based on the last two offseasons, nothing is impossible for Tampa Bay.

Between gaining Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski last offseason, to the front office retaining all 22 starters after the Super Bowl run this offseason, bringing Julian Edelman on board the pirate ship is quite realistic.

Edelman dealt with injuries last year, as he only played in six games. He finished with just 315 receiving yards and zero touchdowns. He's also 34 years old, so he's in the back-end of his career for the Patriots. New England has been busy themselves after being aggressive in free agency. After signing both Nelson Agholor and Kendrick Bourne, trading Edelman away could be a move this front office makes.

All of those adding up brings some legitimacy to Edelman's April Fools joke he tweeted out on Thursday. At the end of the day, Edelman remains in New England.
