Rob Gronkowski has retired from the NFL but not everyone is convinced. The former New England Patriots superstar unretired in 2020 to team up with Tom Brady on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With Brady pulling his own unretirement this offseason, there is tons of speculation over whether his trusty pass-catcher will do the same.

Buccaneers safety Logan Ryan, a former teammate of Gronkowski in New England, said that he wouldn't “close the door” on Gronkowski coming back to the Bucs. Since Gronk's own girlfriend isn't convinced this retirement is permanent either, there may be some reason to suspect a comeback at some point.

Gronkowski, who retired a month ago, said that he wouldn't even go back to football if Brady called him himself and asked him to come back during the season. After playing in the NFL for over a decade and suffering numerous injuries along the way, it makes sense for Gronk to call it quits at age 33.

The Buccaneers have already started planning for life without Gronkowski. They signed veteran tight end Kyle Rudolph to bolster their depth behind Cameron Brate. Tampa Bay's other tight ends are very inexperienced, so Rudolph could see a big role. Gronk would be helpful, especially come playoff time, but he sounds very serious that his playing days are over.

Rob Gronkowski's career will undoubtedly get him into the Hall of Fame. He was one of the most dominant players in the league for many of his best years. His five Pro Bowls, four Super Bowls and four First-Team All-Pro selections speak for themselves.
