The Tampa Bay Buccaneers took care of business in their Week 18 matchup against the Carolina Panthers with a 41-17 win.
As usual, quarterback Tom Brady led the way for a Buccaneers team that has dealt with a multitude of injuries over the past couple of weeks. The seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback guided the offense to seven total scoring drives, which included a trio of passing touchdowns of his own.
The Buccaneers entered the week with a chance to possibly clinch the No. 2 seed in the NFC, as they needed to not only secure a win over the Panthers but also have the San Francisco 49ers notch a road victory against the Los Angeles Rams. Both of these results ended up going their way, as they will now host the No. 7 seed Philadelphia Eagles in the wild-card round of the playoffs.
In the big picture, Brady sees that the Buccaneers need to orchestrate their most convincing performance of the season against the Eagles next week, which he touched on during his post-game press conference.
“We're going to have to play our best game of the year,” Brady said.
Of course, Brady has had plenty of history in clashes with the Eagles, which include the New England Patriots’ dramatic defeat to Philadelphia in Super Bowl 52.
Overall, Brady finished regular season play with 5,316 passing yards and 43 touchdown passes.
