While presenting his first signature shoe at an event in Athens, Greece, Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo revealed that he will be participating in this year's FIBA World Cup tournament.

“I haven’t talked with the coach yet,” Antetokounmpo told eurohoops.net. “I don’t know which position I will play in, but I don’t care. I just want to play. Whether I play as a guard or as a center, I don’t care. I’m a basketball player. I want to help the team in every way.”

Antetokounmpo enjoyed a fine 2018-19 season. In fact, he earned the NBA's MVP award for his outstanding level of play, leading the Bucks all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals.

In his 72 regular season appearances with the Bucks (all starts), Antetokounmpo racked up averages of 27.7 points on 57.8 percent shooting from the field (25.6 percent from beyond the arc), 12.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.3 steals in 32.8 minutes per outing.

As part of the same interview with eurohoops, Antetokounmpo noted that he has a hard time watching his MVP acceptance speech:

“I’ve tried to watch the video many times, as I see it everywhere,” Antetokounmpo told eurohoops.net. “I can’t watch it, because I get emotional again.”

The Bucks finished the 2018-19 campaign with an impressive 60-22 overall record, which earned the team a No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference. Let's see if the Greek Freak can lead his team back to the playoffs next season.
