Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo put forth another dominant performance in one of the biggest matchups he and the Bucks have had to face this season. The reigning MVP led Milwaukee to a 111-104 victory against the Los Angeles Lakers, with Giannis accounting for a team-high 34 points (on 11-of-19 shooting), five 3-pointers, 11 rebounds, seven assists, a steal, and a block in 32 minutes of play.

The 25-year-old recently opened up about his dominance in the league, saying that motivation plays a crucial role in his consistency.

“I think the most important thing is trying to stay humble,” Giannis Antetokounmpo said, via Eric Nehm of The Athletic. “When you win MVP and you win 60 games, it’s hard. You feel like, ‘What else?’ But at the end of the day, I realize and my family realizes I’m not supposed to be here. I wasn’t the No. 1 pick like AD was, like LeBron was.”

Giannis, a former 15th overall pick himself, spoke further about how his emergence from a raw and untapped prospect, to the best player in the league today.

“I ain’t supposed to be here,” he said. “I ain’t supposed to go up against these two. I’m just happy I’m here. I’m happy I’m going through the process and I always want to be better, to do better for my team. And that’s what gives me joy.”

It is obvious that despite the heights he has reached, Antetokounmpo makes an effort to keep himself on the ground. This is exactly the type of mindset one has to imbibe in order to not only succeed in the league, but to establish one's self as one of the greats. At this point, Giannis is definitely on his way.
