Many NBA stars, especially in Team USA, have dropped out of the FIBA World Cup to prepare for the upcoming season. However, the reigning MVP remains committed to his beloved national squad.
Antetokounmpo's instantly makes Greece a team to watch in this year's tournament. He will suit up alongside his brothers, Kostas and Thanasis. Greece is in Group F, along with New Zealand, Brazil, and Montenegro.
Greece secured the silver medal in 2006 and, to this day, it remains their best finish in the tournament. Giannis Antetokounmpo has a chance to make history by leading Greece to their first-ever gold medal finish in the FIBA World Cup.
