Milwaukee Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer gave an explanation for why Giannis Antetokounmpo sat out Saturday's game against the Orlando Magic.

The Bucks had one of their worst performances of the season in a 20-point home loss to the Magic, and it's clear that the team simply wasn't the same without Giannis on the court.

That makes sense considering his overall talents, but while some Milwaukee fans may be concerned about Giannis' injury status, Budenholzer made it clear that it had more to do with the overall toll that playing in the NBA can take on your body:

“The soreness and the pounding of his body is pretty significant,” Budenholzer said, according to the Associated Press. “I don't think it's a long-term thing, but I think a back-to-back, and the loads his puts himself through for us, he needs this.”

There's no doubt that the NBA season is an absolute grind, so the Bucks certainly aren't going to force their star player to be on the court if there are some nagging issues.

Giannis continues to be one of the most dominant forces in the league and making sure he's fully healthy will always be a top priority for the franchise.

Next up is a road trip to take on the Chicago Bulls on Monday night.
