The Milwaukee Bucks are adding a big body to their roster, as they signed former UNLV star Brandon McCoy to a summer contract, according to Keith Smith of Real GM.

The Milwaukee Bucks have signed forward Brandon McCoy. McCoy is believed to have signed a deal that includes Exhibits 9 & 10. This is a Summer Contract that can be converted into a Two-Way deal. McCoy went undrafted out of UNLV at the 2018 NBA Draft.

An Exhibit 9 and 10 type of deals are contracts that have less guaranteed than regular ones. A player on an Exhibit 9 contract can be waived anytime if he gets hurt. This is to avoid teams from keeping a player on their roster all the way into the regular season if he suffers an injury while performing for them. An Exhibit 10 type of deal, meanwhile, promises a player to receive up to $50,000 worth of bonus provided that he signs with the team’s G League affiliate after getting waived by the mother NBA team and should remain with the ballclub for at least 60 days.

Going back to Brandon McCoy, the 20-year-old center blossomed in his first and only season for the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels. Last season, he averaged 16.9 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks in 33 games on his way to earning Mountain West Freshman of the Year honors. He declared for the 2018 NBA Draft but went unselected before signing a Summer League deal with the Bucks.
