One up and another one down for the Milwaukee Bucks, as center Pau Gasol underwent surgery to repair a navicular stress fracture in his left foot and is now slated to miss the remainder of the postseason. The Bucks announced the news on Friday morning.

Gasol had yet to play since Mar. 10 after a 15-minute stint against his former team, the San Antonio Spurs.

The 7-footer put up a combined 3.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game through his time with the Spurs and Bucks this season, getting only spare minutes as a 38-year-old backup center.

Gasol only played three games with the Bucks under coach Mike Budenholzer, scoring only four points in his tenure with the Eastern Conference finalists in 31 total minutes of action.

Ersan Ilyasova is in charge of backing up starter Brook Lopez, as the Bucks tend to go slightly smaller with him off the floor.

As for Gasol, it's unlikely he will continue with the Bucks following his injury — though other teams could take a chance on him in the summer as a player mentor. He's expected to be ready for training camp.

The Spaniard's mobility and athleticism have greatly declined as he has aged, now mostly a perimeter player after years of bruising play on the block and an array of finesse finishing moves in the paint.

Due to his 18-year experience in the league and avid knowledge of the sport, Gasol can still find a home in the NBA, but that will be determined by the way teams spend in the offseason.
