Everything seems to be falling into place for the Milwaukee Bucks as the 2020 NBA free agency begins. One of the biggest questions for the team is how they can surround two-time reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo with enough talent for him to decide to stay and go all-in with the Cream City franchise.
On Monday, the Bucks landed a huge fish in the name of two-way point guard Jrue Holiday from the New Orleans Pelicans. Even if it meant that they had to send both Eric Bledsoe and George Hill to the Big Easy, this move clearly suggests that the Bucks are serious in trying to make sure that Giannis stays.
And per Marc Stein of The New York Times, that is exactly what the situation is in Milwaukee. Word has it that the 25-year-old is now planning to sign a supermax deal with the franchise that drafted him way back in 2013.
Though there hasn't been anything solid in terms of “The Greek Freak” leaving Milwaukee, the internet is dark and full of gossip and everyone has been keenly anticipating Giannis' move ahead of his contract extension deadline with the Bucks next month.
There has also been talks that Giannis Antetokounmpo might go to Florida and join the team that eliminated them in the 2020 playoffs, the Miami Heat. A lot of people have also poked at the idea that he might be headed to the West to possibly join the Dallas Mavericks or even the Golden State Warriors.
With the way things are going, fans would assume that Milwaukee still has the upper hand in keeping their superstar.
