The Milwaukee Bucks are kicking off their Friday night clash with the New York Knicks as Eric Bledsoe and Giannis Antetokounmpo seemed to have planned an opening act for the fans at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
After the opening tip-off, the basketball was passed towards Antetokounmpo as he pretended he was an NFL center and passed it through his legs into the hands of Bledsoe. That's when it got strange.
Watch the video below of Bledsoe doing a push-up.
Once Bledsoe got the pass from Antetokounmpo, he proceeded to do a single push up and started to head down the court. I guess that is one way to get the crowd into it. With the crowd into it and Bledsoe biceps pumping, they should have practiced the finishing act a bit more.
Antetokounmpo would then miss a driving layup in the following seconds as the act was now over and no more push-ups were done. It seems that there are no days off for the Milwaukee Bucks. In 54 games for the Bucks, Bledsoe is averaging 31.7 minutes on the court to go along with 17.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 2.0 steals per game — if only in-game push-ups can be added to the boxscore.
Let's see if this new push-up trend will start in the NBA as we might see more fun acts from the two players down the road. In fact, the Oklahoma City Thunder's duo in Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony have been doing their ritual after every tipoff for quite a while already.
