Former NFL wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson was very critical of Jameis Winston after his latest incident, saying “there’s something wrong mentally” with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback. However, another former star wideout in Randy Moss has a more lenient view of Winston’s situation.

Moss, who is currently coaching Winston and other NFL players down in Tampa, says Jameis’ latest incident is just another “bump in the road” which he must learn from.

“He's doing things right and there's a bump in the road,” Moss told Kevin O'Donnell of FOX 13. “What he did was wrong. I'm not sitting up here and saying right or wrong. The was a women involved, so I'm not going to get into all of that. What he did was wrong. He knows it was wrong. So I think it's up for him as a man to understand what he did wrong, live and learn from it and let it go.”

Moss is certainly familiar with what Winston is going through. He had his share of off-field problems during his illustrious 14-year NFL career. His advice for Winston is to surround himself with people who can stand up to him and keep him from getting into trouble.

“One of the things I've always told my people is don't be scared or shy to tell me no,” continued Moss. “Because I check my pride in at the door. I'll thank you later when I'm not behind bars or when I'm still on the football team.”

Due to his immense talent, Moss had multiple chances in the league despite his issues, and he eventually cleaned up his act later in his career. And as a former No. 1 pick, Winston may have a similar privilege, although it's not guaranteed.

Hopefully for Winston, he can heed Moss' advice and learn his lesson much earlier before another bump on the road ends up completely derailing his career.
