The Chicago Bulls just fired a vital member of their staff. Jen Swanson, whose title was officially director of sports performance, was recently dismissed by the team according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.
Swanson, who oversaw the rehabilitation of Derrick Rose after his ACL injury in 2012, reportedly had a strained relationship with former Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau. Thibodeau apparently thought Swanson was “dishonest about the handling of Derrick Rose in preparation for the FIBA World Cup”.
The strength and conditions coach, Nick Papendieck, was also fired. A familiar replacement is expected to be named soon.
