It's been a few weeks since Netflix released its insanely popular Korean series Squid Game, but it's still etched into many people's minds. That includes a lot of NBA players, and one particular Chicago Bulls guard has an interesting take on a potential “Squid Game” within his team.

In an interview with the Chicago Sun-Times, Bulls fan-favorite Alex Caruso made a bold claim about who would win Squid Game within his team. Here's his declaration:

‘‘Who in here would win ‘Squid Game’?’’ Caruso said, referring to the Netflix series, while taking one more glance at a handful of the younger players getting a scrimmage in. ‘‘I know this sounds biased, but it would have to be me. I really think I’m versatile and smart. . . . I’d just figure it out somehow. Yeah, me. I’d just figure it out.’’

For the uninitiated, Squid Game is a show about a bunch of people in huge debts competing in various life-threatening games in order to win a huge amount of money. Squid Game emphasized resourcefulness and craftiness to succeed, something that Alex Caruso believes he has an edge over his Bulls teammates.

And frankly speaking, Caruso's backstory makes it hard to think that the Bulls guard wouldn't succeed in that scenario. Coming into the Lakers as an undrafted player, Caruso fought tooth and nail to earn a spot in the rotation alongside LeBron James. He turned an extremely bleak scenario into perhaps one of the biggest success stories in the NBA. If it comes down to it, Caruso has proven to be willing to do whatever it takes to win.

If ever there comes a Squid Game-like tournament with the Chicago Bulls, it may be a safe bet to place your money on Alex Caruso.
