Chicago Bulls guard Alex Caruso built his reputation as a cult hero on the Los Angeles Lakers. Now in his first year away from LA, AC's finally realizing just how much love the purple and gold get from the media.

In a recent interview with HoopsHype's Bryan Kalbrosky, the Bulls star was asked about his heir apparent in the hustle department for the Lakers, Austin Reeves. Caruso said that he's been seeing Reeves in some highlights, claiming it's evident that LA gets a ton of love from social media.

Via HoopsHype:

“I’ve seen a little bit! It’s apparent now – I didn’t realize this when I was on the Lakers – but social media shows all of the Lakers highlights. [Laughs] I didn’t think that was true until I got another team.”

Thanks to those extended Lakers clips, Caruso has been able to appreciate what Austin Reeves has been doing for LA. The man knows a thing or two about being a “glue guy”.

“But he appears to be one of those good glue guys that winning teams need. I think he’s a lot farther along than I was during my first year in the league. I think we have the same mindset of getting better and working hard. Hopefully, he can stick around.”

Alex Caruso still gets plenty of love with the Bulls. It's not like Chicago is a small market by any means. But the Lakers fandom is unlike any other in the NBA, and he's now more cognizant of that fact than ever.
