DeMar DeRozan returned to San Antonio on Thursday for the first time since he left the organization last offseason to sign with Chicago Bulls and the Spurs made sure to put together a heartwarming tribute for the veteran.
Prior to tip-off, the Bulls star was able to watch this on the jumbotron:

You could see just how thankful DeRozan was for the warm welcome at the AT&T Center, a place where he played for a total of three seasons. The 32-year-old made quite the impact with the team on both ends of the floor, averaging 21.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game. He was one of the most loved players on the roster by head coach Gregg Popovich and the ultimate leader.
Now, DeRozan is running with the opportunity to be the focal point on the Bulls. He's frankly never had the chance to be in the limelight after playing in Toronto for the Raptors then for the Spurs. The four-time All-Star was just named a starter in next month's prestigious game in Cleveland and has himself in the MVP conversation, putting up 26.4 points, 4.8 dimes, and five rebounds.
While he didn't lead San Antonio to a deep playoff run, he was certainly a fantastic player for the franchise. They're undoubtedly grateful.
