Chicago Bulls interim head coach Jim Boylen has disputed reports that there was a players-only meeting on Sunday.

It's been a challenging weekend for the Bulls after they suffered their worst loss in franchise history on Saturday night in falling 133-77 to the Boston Celtics at the United Center, giving the Celtics a 56-point win that was the best in their franchise history.

That led to several reports today that some players on the team were pushing the idea of not showing up to the Bulls' practice facility. However, that led to even more reports that practice was called off and a players-only meeting was held.

Nonetheless, Boylen has disputed that the players-only meeting actually happened, according to ESPN reporter Malika Andrews:

There is certainly a lot to digest right now when it comes to the issues surrounding the franchise, but something that obviously stands out is the struggles on the court.

Chicago's 6-21 start has led the firing of former head coach Fred Hoiberg, which then led to the embarrassing defeat against the Celtics. At this point, there doesn't seem to be a clear path ahead when it comes to turning around the franchise's fortunes and that can't be encouraging for Bulls fans.

The Bulls will return to the court on Monday night when they host the Sacramento Kings, a team that was once mired in chaos and uncertainty as well. A strong response against the Kings after their loss to Boston loss would go a long way towards getting back on the right track.
