Tom Thibodeau's run as Chicago Bulls head coach did not exactly come to a smooth end, as he was fired in May 2015 following a six-game loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Now, Thibodeau is head coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves, who traveled to Chicago to take on the Bull Wednesday night.

With Thibs in town, Bulls vice president of basketball operations John Paxson made sure to pay a visit to the former Chicago coach prior to the game, and the two men are apparently on good terms now in spite of the messy breakup:

Thibodeau coached the Bulls for five seasons from 2010-11 through 2014-15, winning the Coach of the Year award during his first season after leading Chicago to a 62-20 record and an Eastern Conference Finals appearance.

That was the height of Thibs' time with the Bulls, as his next four years were full of nothing but heartache and disappointment.

Chicago did not make it past the second round again after that first season, and Thibodeau went 255-139 during his tenure as Bulls head coach.

Now, Thibodeau is in his third year with the Timberwolves, currently owning a record of 93-104 thus far. While Thibodeau used to be considered one of the best coaches in the league, his old-school style of coaching has grated on the nerves of some.

Minnesota entered Wednesday night's matchup with a disappointing record of 15-18. Meanwhile, the rebuilding Bulls owned just nine wins on the year entering the game.
