After only winning their third game in their last 10 outings on Sunday, the Chicago Bulls are looking to win another one against the L.A. Clippers. They understand that stringing a few wins together will be a confidence booster for them, but the task just became tougher as their promising rookie in Lauri Markkanen will not be available to suit up on Tuesday night due to back spasms.

The development has been announced by the team through their official Twitter account.

This is definitely a huge blow to the Bulls, as the Finnish international is playing very well for them this season. Through 60 games, he is averaging impressive numbers of 14.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 30.4 minutes per game. His ability to score from a variety of spots on the floor has also come in handy for head coach Fred Hoiberg, as he gives them a lot of versatility and spacing.

Despite Noah Vonleh starting, it is also expected that Bobby Portis will see an uptick in his usage as the Bulls try to fill in the void left by Markannen. However, Cristiano Felicio could also receive more playing time on the night, as the Clippers usually play two big men at the same time, and Hoiberg may want to match up with them by fielding Felicio at the power forward spot.

It remains to be seen what rotation the team will have on the night, but one thing that's certain is Markannen's absence will be felt by the team. Kris Dunn and Zach LaVine will be tasked to carry a majority of the scoring load.
