It's no secret that the Chicago Bulls are not in contention for a playoff spot this season. They are one of the bottom teams in the standings, and are already planning ahead on how to bring back their glory days. One way to speed up their rebuilding process is to add some key players, with a high draft pick definitely being a huge boost to them. Understanding their situation, the league office warned the team for resting players, as they know that tanking is an option for them.

As a result, the team reportedly plans to play Robin Lopez and Justin Holiday more moving forward, in order not to be thought of as a team that's losing on purpose. The warning was just given recently, with the Bulls responding with the development immediately, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports.

Tanking has been a controversial issue for the NBA, as a number of teams have been resting their key players, resulting to more losses, but strengthening their chance of having a higher pick in the draft. This has been done in the past, and the league is continuing to find ways to combat it and make the competition always competitive.

This can be considered a good sign, and that the Bulls have responded to the warning positively. They do have cornerstones in their roster with the likes of Kris Dunn, Zach LaVine and Lauri Markkanen, who will all be part of their future plans. If they can have more experience under their belts, and their front office will be able to sign some key pieces, along with a good first round pick, it could be more than enough to turn their fortunes around soon. It will also be a good example to the other franchises that tanking is not needed in order to become a better team.
