There's no other way to put it, but the Chicago Bulls are in a funk. They have now lost three straight games after getting blown out by the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night, 117-94.

The slump couldn't come at a worse time for the Bulls, who have lost their chance to gain homecourt advantage in the NBA Playoffs. At one point in the season, they had the best record in the Eastern Conference, but with a slew of injuries and inconsistent performances, they have slid to the no. 6 spot with a 45-35 card.

In a report by ESPN, Bulls coach Billy Donovan put their situation into perspective.

“I think what happens is when you're winning, you have a false sense of reality of who you are. And when you're losing, you have a false sense of reality of who you are.”

Bulls star Zach LaVine, who struggled against the Celtics with only seven points in 21 minutes, offered a more grim take on their status.

“It's hard to play when we're disconnected like this, and the results show. Offensively, defensively, we're disconnected right now. We have to find our rhythm in these next two games.”

The Bulls will have to right the ship as soon as possible, especially with top playmaker Lonzo Ball done for the season. It will take a collective effort to regain momentum and complete a fitting ending to what has been an impressive yet challenging campaign.

They will close out the regular season against the Charlotte Hornets and the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
