The Chicago Bulls caught the NBA world's attention after an offseason that saw the arrival of DeMar DeRozan, Lonzo Ball, and Alex Caruso. One addition outside of the more celebrated names probably resonated more to fans in the Windy City.

Ayo Dosunmi was born in Chicago. He played three years in college for Illinois. In the NBA, his basketball journey has kept him in his hometown after being drafted by 38th overall by the Bulls.

Dosunmu shone under the spotlight in the Bulls' preseason win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, hitting back-to-back clutch shots to put the game away. His performance didn't go unnoticed as LaVine and DeRozan couldn't help but praise the rookie for his stellar performance, via Rob Schaefer of NBC Sports Chicago.

“He (Dosunmu) doesn't have any fear at all, offensively or defensively,” LaVine said. “He asks a whole bunch of questions. He probably asks more questions than any rookie I've been around, on- and off-the-court subjects. So he wants to learn.”

According to Schaefer, DeRozan described Dosunmu's bucket-getting ability as “pretty damn good.” He wasn't lying. Dosunmu scored nine points in seven minutes and delivered timely baskets for the Bulls.

He has his work cut out for him, though, in order to earn a rotation spot. The Bulls' guard rotation is already a crowded one with LaVine, Ball, Caruso, and Coby White. If everything his teammates say about the 6-foot-5 guard is true, he'll be working as hard as ever in the background until he gets the opportunity to show off his skills just like Sunday night in Cleveland.
