Wednesday night marked the second death anniversary of Los Angeles Lakers icon Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna. Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine made sure to honor the NBA legend with a heartwarming gesture as Chicago took on the Toronto Raptors in the United Center.

LaVine put on the Kobe 1s to commemorate Bryant's record-breaking 81-point game (h/t Bulls on Twitter):

It's been 16 years since Kobe made history by scoring 81 points against, incidentally, the Raptors. It's only fitting that we, too, commemorate that unforgettable evening on Bryant's death anniversary. So for your viewing pleasure, here are the highlights of that epic performance:

As for LaVine, he's hoping to invoke a bit of the Black Mamba on Wednesday night. The Bulls star just recently returned from a five-game absence due to a knee injury. This is just his second game back and he's hoping for a repeat of his 23-point effort in a win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday.

The Bulls lost four out of the five games with LaVine out of the lineup. Now that he's back in the mix, Chicago will be hoping to get back to winning ways. Entering Wednesday's tilt against the Raptors, the Bulls were 29-17 and second in the East.
