Chicago Bulls fans hoping for a big shakeup shouldn't expect one when it comes to head coach Jim Boylen.

According to K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago, there's almost zero chance Boylen gets fired by the Bulls this season:

As for Jim Boylen, his relationship with ownership and management remains very strong, and he just signed an extension. So, yes, I expect him to return. The extension is small enough money-wise that if things became disastrous, that could lead to a scenario where the Bulls move off him. But even though it’s not showing up in the standings, the Bulls have played more competitively since Dec. 1. And management is pleased that Boylen is trying to establish a style of play at both ends, which, for now, is manifesting itself in improved defense.

I have as much a chance of replacing the injured Max Strus on a two-way contract as Boylen does of getting fired during this season.

Bulls vice president John Paxson and general manager Gar Forman love Boylen, even giving him a contract extension over the offseason for some reason.

Boylen had a mutiny on his hands last season and he’s already gotten into a little spat with shooting guard Zach LaVine after benching the high-flyer against the Miami Heat. LaVine responded to the benching with 49 points and a game-winning shot versus the Charlotte Hornets, but it’s pretty clear Zach and Boylen have a ways to go before they are on the same page.

The Bulls are 13-25 on the season. They are in the 11th spot in the Eastern Conference standings.
