The Chicago Bulls are experiencing utter turmoil and the latest rumor to surface involves a veteran player threatening to fine any player who would show up to practice Sunday.

According to Vincent Goodwill and Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, a Bulls veteran started a group text and pushed players not to attend in the team's Sunday practice. The said veteran, reportedly, even threatened to fine his teammates personally if they show up in the facility.

Goodwill and Haynes write:

“Late Saturday evening one of the team’s veterans, sources said, initiated a group text relaying that if any player showed up to the facility on Sunday prepared to practice, he would fine them personally, and the players agreed.

“A player contacted Boylen to alert him of the team’s decision, but the coach refused to relent, sources said.

“That’s when the players compromised among themselves, agreeing to show up but with no intention of practicing, sources said. Robin Lopez was the leader of getting the players to back down, sources said, although he wasn’t in the initial group text.”

This is exceptionally concerning for the Bulls. The practice Jim Boylen wanted to hold after a back-to-back clearly pushed the players past their limits. This is at the point of a full-scale mutiny and it took the leadership of veteran Robin Lopez to keep this from escalating even further.

This is a sticky situation for the Bulls to navigate at every level. This is a bad look for everyone involved. The front office wants to move forward from this as soon as possible, but it's clear that the players are not happy with the coaching staff. This story continues to develop and there's no telling what might happen next.
