Chicago Bulls fans have had a tumultuous couple of months. After an unceremonious end to a 2021-22 NBA season that started with so much promise, suddenly they were faced with a potential reality where they lose Zach LaVine in free agency. But if the latest rumors are to be trusted, those fears may soon subside.

Bleacher Report's Jake Fischer revealed that signs point to Zach LaVine ultimately re-signing with the Chicago Bulls at the beginning of free agency.

Two-time All-Star Zach LaVine is expected to re-sign with the Chicago Bulls once the free-agency negotiation period opens June 30, sources told B/R.

LaVine's free agency has generated plenty of conversation among NBA personnel over the past few weeks. But despite rumblings that the Portland Trail Blazers, San Antonio Spurs, Atlanta Hawks and Los Angeles Lakers will make plays for LaVine, the coveted swingman is likely to remain with his current team.

One point of contentions was reportedly the fifth year of the deal, which the Bulls exclusively could offer LaVine versus other teams. Whether they offer it in its entirety, have it partially guaranteed or with a player option for Zach Lavine to weigh in on remains to be seen.

LaVine was said to covet a situation wherein he becomes the clear-cut primary option on offense, which hasn't been the case with DeMar DeRozan taking such a leap in Chicago this season. But with no clear destinations that could offer such a setup and a legitimate chance to contend, the Bulls remain LaVine's best possible situation and likely team that gets his signature.
