Chicago Bulls shooting guard Zach LaVine showed encouraging progress today, after he was spotted throwing down a ferocious windmill dunk in practice, clearly making long strides after sustaining an ACL tear as he got off to a career year with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Seeing this type of explosiveness is nothing but encouraging for the centerpiece they got back in return for trading All-Star forward Jimmy Butler on draft day.

LaVine is bound to be one of the key cogs from which this team means to rebuild from the ground up, along with the newly-groomed second-year point guard Kris Dunn and rookie forward Lauri Markkanen.

Much of the Washington native's game revolves around his otherworldly athleticism and the raw explosion, whether it is his quick first step or his jump shot, or his most-famous airborne acrobatics.

The 22-year-old underwent surgery to repair his torn ACL in February and remains on schedule to make his debut in early-to-mid February after going through his first full-contact practice last week.

LaVine will need to gear up into playing shape in the coming weeks in order to join the rotation, as Justin Holiday has filled in at the starting shooting guard spot during his absence.
