The catch here is that Baker Mayfield was not told by his agent or an NFL executive that he will be going to the Arizona Cardinals. He wasn’t told by any of the current Cardinals (players and coaches), Carson Palmer, or any other former player or coach. The Cardinals front office didn’t tell him, either.

But a psychic did.

It appears that there was a psychic in attendance at the NFL Combine by the name of Lee Ann Cornell. She is from the Pyramid of Enlightenment. Even though he was very skeptical of her, Mayfield sat down for a reading for a video filmed by the NFL.

Mayfield’s reactions to her as she describes him, his style, and his demeanor are pretty entertaining. But, when she dives into his future in the NFL, he becomes much more engaged. Whether he believed her or was just being polite is hard to tell. But, then again, she isn’t saying anything that a young, soon-to-be-NFL quarterback doesn’t want to here.

Seriously, folks—who doesn’t want to be told that there is a Super Bowl in their future?

It gets interesting at the end of the reading when she predicts what team is going to draft him. He picks a card from a large stack of them, and it ends up being the Arizona Cardinals.

It isn’t hard to imagine him going to the Cardinals with the 15th pick in the draft. It’s also not hard to see him playing early and often, and doing well. He could very well beat out Sam Bradford for the starting job if he lands with the franchise. If he doesn’t, the odds are high (based on the past) that Bradford will lose time to an injury of some kind.

So, one way or another, Mayfield will get his chance to play.
