The Arizona Cardinals' 27-10 home loss to the Seattle Seahawks gets worse. In the waning moments of the game, second-year wide receiver Christian Kirk had to be helped off the field. Coach Kliff Kingsbury confirmed on Monday that Kirk suffered an ankle injury, per the team's official website.

“He’s a dynamic player who has had a great start to the season, so you hate it for him,” said Kingsbury.

Kingsbury wouldn't go into the details of the injury, as he said he would hold that off until Wednesday. “We’ll continue to find answers and do whatever we need to do,” said the head ball coach.

If out, the Cardinals will have just four healthy wide receivers on the depth chart — Larry Fitzgerald, Andy Isabella, KeeSean Johnson, and Trent Sherfield — compared to seven when they started the season. Michael Crabtree's release, Damiere Byrd's hamstring injury (that kept him out of Week 3) and Kirk's ankle injury make a rather deep group thin.

“We’ve had some tough injuries obviously, but it’s a young group working hard and trying to get on the same page with a young quarterback,” Kingsbury said. “Outside of Fitz, not many of those guys have much NFL experience. It’ll be a growing process for everybody.”

The Cardinals could be back in good shape if Kirk and Byrd get over their respective injuries. If they don't, however, they may consider bringing undrafted rookie A.J. Richardson up from the practice squad for next Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Bringing back Crabtree isn't out of the realm of possibility either.
