As the deadline for NFL teams to trade players gets closer and closer, many have speculated if Arizona Cardinals defensive back Patrick Peterson will be moved. While it remains unknown as of now, one former NFL legend would love to see him moved in order to experience a winning team prior to his retirement.

Taking to social media, Pro Football Hall of Famer and NFL legend Deion Sanders revealed that a few teams had called in regards to trading for Peterson. Sanders took things a step further by saying that he wished that the Cardinals would actually trade the star player, so that Peterson could “experience winning” before his career is over.

As Sanders notes, the Cardinals are currently the worst team in their division, and as the NFC West looks to be one of the toughest places to play in the NFL, they likely won’t be competing for a playoff spot this season. Sanders went on to say that nobody has the kind of time to wait around for a team to get better, noting that he believes the Cardinals aren’t going to be winning anytime soon.

As of now, the Cardinals find themselves with a 3-4 record, good for last place in a very competitive NFC West.

Unfortunately for them, it doesn’t seem like things will get better this season, as they are more focused on rebuilding and developing rookie quarterback Kyler Murray.

With that in mind, it would be interesting to see what they could get in return for someone like Peterson, but it remains to be seen if they are willing to move on from the longtime Cardinal.
