Week 8 of the NFL started off with a bang, as two top teams in the league duked it out in an instant classic. The Arizona Cardinals and the Green Bay Packers had an absolute barnburner of a game. Sadly for Cardinals fans, the game didn't go in their favor, as Rasul Douglas made a clutch interception on Kyler Murray's pass to seal the game for the Packers.

After the game, Murray was asked about that critical play that led to their loss. The Cardinals QB had this to say: (via Kent Somers)

‘Murray says “I honestly don’t know” what happened on the final play. “We were (sic) on the same page and it cost us”'

It was an uncharacteristic mistake from the Cardinals' star quarterback, who would've thrown the touchdown pass to receiver A.J Green in the end zone. Instead, the duo apparently had a “miscommunication” error, according to head coach Kliff Kingsbury.

‘Kliff Kingsbury described Kyler Murray’s interception on a pass intended for A.J. Green as a “miscommunication, obviously.”'

It's a rough loss for the Cardinals, who had a real chance of winning that game by the skin of their teeth. If Murray and Green connected properly on that play, we'd be talking about how they capitalized on the Packers missing key players. Now, the talk of the town is Murray's costly error.

Luckily for the Cardinals, their season isn't in jeopardy. This loss to the Packers is only their first during the 2021 season, and they have plenty of time from learn from their errors this game. For now, though, Murray and the Cardinals will be feeling the sting of this loss for quite some time.
