Most players get nervous before games. Even Chicago Bears legend Walter Payton reportedly used to puke in his helmet before each and every game. But Arizona Cardinals rookie quarterback Kyler Murray claims he's cool, calm, and collected.

Murray said that he's not experiencing any nerves before the Cardinals' season opener against the Detroit Lions, according ESPN via Pro Football Talk.

“I’m not nervous right now. . . . I always like to keep calm and just you know, be myself and trust the game plan, trust myself, trust my teammates going into it, go out there play my game and let the chips fall where they may.” Murray said.

Some people may take this as a good sign, but Murray should probably be at least a little nervous. The matchup with the Lions isn't a particularly tough one, but any NFL team is a step up from the college game. The former Oklahoma Sooner is about to undergo the first test of his career, one that could set the tone for the entire season.

The Lions may be a bad overall team, but the defense isn't all bad. After signing Trey Flowers to pair with Mike Daniels and Damon Harrison, Detroit fields a fierce defensive line. Arizona has an awful offensive line, so it wouldn't be surprising to watch Murray under constant pressure come Sunday. The Lions also field a half decent defensive backfield, led by cornerback Darius Slay. The Cardinals don't exactly have great receivers, so expect a tough day for Murray and the Cardinals.
