After much experimentation, the Arizona Cardinals finally found their potential franchise quarterback in Kyler Murray. As the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Murray is well aware of the expectations that come with being tasked of turning a franchise around.

The Cardinals have made quite the investment under center which ultimately culminated with Murray's selection. According to Steven Taranto of 247 Sports, he understands the pressure of his situation:

“I’ve got to go out and play well, and if I don’t, then people are going to be mad, I’m going to be mad, everybody's going to be mad,” said Murray on Thursday. “My focus is to play well.”

It is encouraging to see that Murray is embracing all the hype that he has generated this offseason. He has successfully managed to carry the torch gifted to him by Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield as a former Heisman Trophy winner and No. 1 pick in the draft. He is now looking to once again take that next step into establishing himself as a bonafide franchise quarterback.

Fortunately, Murray is not the only one with plenty to prove moving forward. New head coach Kliff Kingsbury is being tasked with developing the rookie in what is supposed to be a revolutionary offensive system. Meanwhile, running back, David Johnson was not shy about expressing his distaste with being overlooked as an elite player after a rough couple of years.

Either way, any success the Cardinals enjoy this season will likely be traced back to Murray's performance under center.
