Like most fans, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray was relaxing at his place when news broke that the Los Angeles Rams had acquired Matthew Stafford via trade. His mind quickly reverted back to football upon knowing that the Jared Goff saga has ended. Not to mention that their division rival is now armed with a veteran quarterback.

Murray admitted that he was surprised. After all, the 26-year-old Goff signed a hefty deal two seasons ago and was expected to be the Rams' franchise star. He then sympathized with Goff, especially with all the criticism thrown at him over the last two years.

“I was watching a movie, just chillin’. It happened late [at] night. I was honestly surprised,” the Cardinals star told FanSided. “He’s [Goff] been to a Super Bowl. I play in the league. I understand all the hate, all the criticism. I bet Jared he probably gets a lot of that. You want to be wanted you want to feel comfortable where you’re at. It’s tough.”

The Cardinals youngster knows how tough it has been for the Rams. After making it all the way to the Super Bowl in 2018, they failed to even qualify for the playoffs in the following year. With that said, he understands how desperate LA was in making it back to football's biggest stage.

“They are trying to win. I respect it. I love Matt Stafford,” Kyler Murray added.

Only time will tell if the trade works in favor of Los Angeles, but the next Cardinals-Rams game is something fans should look out for.
