The Arizona Cardinals were unable to avoid getting swept by the Los Angeles Rams in the 2017 NFL season following their 16-32 loss. However, fans were at least treated to yet another career milestone from star wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald.

The Cardinals veteran wideout beat out Hall of Famer Jerry Rice as the fastest player in NFL history to reach 1,200 career receptions. However, Fitgerald made it clear after the game that he would rather have gotten the win, according to Kent Somers of AZCentral Sports

“The season hasn’t gone the way we had hoped,” Fitzgerald said. “It’s hard to take any joy in losing. When I’m done and retired, when I see you over at Starbucks one day, we can reminisce about it, but I don’t feel good about it now.”

This kind of selflessness is what fans have come to expect from a player like Fitzgerald. It seems many of his accomplishments this year have largely been spoiled by losses. Regardless, there is still plenty for the 10-time Pro Bowler to be excited about.

Fitzgerald managed to turn back the clock once again on Sunday after registering 10 catches for 98 yards and a touchdown. That said, he may still have his eye on a few more milestones in the near future. Hopefully, they will be accompanied by wins next time around.
