With the offseason drawing to a close, there are still some quality safeties still left on the market. Among them is former Los Angeles Chargers safety, Tre Boston.

Boston has visited with a few teams in NFL free agency including the Arizona Cardinals. Unfortunately, he revealed during an appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio that their offer was far below what he feels his value is:

“They rolled out the red carpet for me but the offer was very very disrespectful”

Boston added that it is crucial for other notable safeties not to settle for less than their worth.

“It's kinda rough man, they got us where they think they want us. For us, we have to communicate with each other so we don't take this minimum wage”

It is a bit perplexing to see how the market value for safeties has drastically changed this offseason. There are a bevy of other notable quality veterans like Kenny Vaccaro, Eric Reid, and Mike Mitchell still looking for a new home. This comes at a time when quarterbacks and pass-rushers are signing the most lucrative deals in NFL history. Unfortunately, it appears to have left out those who defend the pass.

This is not Boston's first disappointing visit with a team. He also revealed that he spent more time playing basketball than he did with any key members of the front office.

Boston is coming off a stellar 2017 campaign with the Chargers after registering a career-high 79 tackles, five interceptions, and eight pass defenses. However, it appears as though the only choices safeties have right now is to accept a minimum deal or risk not playing in the 2018 NFL season.
