The Philadelphia Eagles snagged an ugly 23-9 win at the expense of the struggling Dallas Cowboys in a Week 8 matchup between two NFC East teams. Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz had no part in their victory as he continued his struggles on the field. He admitted his errors and knows that he has to improve in order for his team to win in their coming games.

“I’m not good enough,” Wentz said, via the News Journal. “I can be better. I know I will be.”

“Some of these shots down the field, I’m going to keep giving these guys chances and I can be better and put the ball in the right spot,” he added. “But I’m not going to change my aggressive mentality. We’re going to start connecting on some of those big plays.”

The fifth-year playmaker completed just 15 of 27 passes for a meager tally of 123 yards and had four turnovers in the game. Despite the inefficiency, he managed to connect on a pair of touchdown passes sent to the way of receiver Travis Fulgham and rookie wideout Jalen Reagor.

Running back Boston Scott continues to lead the team's rushing attack as he ran 70 yards on 15 carries. Fulgham was also a common target for Wentz as he went for 78 receiving yards on six receptions.

The Cowboys were still without backup quarterback Andy Dalton who recently suffered a concussion in Week 7. Third-string gunslinger Ben DiNucci started under center and took the snaps for America's Team.

The win lifted the Eagles to a 3-4-1 record to have sole possession of the top spot in the NFC East while the Cowboys dropped to a 2-6 record for the third seed in the same division.

Carson Wentz and the rest of the Eagles had little reason to celebrate after winning against a depleted Cowboys squad. They will return to the field in Week 10 against the New after their bye in Week 9.
