LeBron James and Kevin Durant may be facing off against one another in the NBA Finals for the second time in their careers, but back in 2011 the two were on the same team making a hip-hop track. According to Chris Haynes of ESPN, James and Durant collaborated on a song that was never released to the public back in 2011, a year before the two went head-to-head in the 2012 NBA Finals when they were members of the Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder, respectively.

As legend has it, stashed away somewhere is a 6-year-old, never-before released hip-hop track by James and Durant.

League sources informed ESPN that the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors superstars collaborated on the track during the lockout in 2011 while Durant, then a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder, was visiting James, who had joined the Miami Heat, for workouts in Akron, Ohio.

Both players are music junkies, and in between workouts they decided to kill some time by writing their own lyrics and heading to the booth, sources told ESPN.

Haynes adds that there isn't much known information on the song, such as the title, the theme, or where it was recorded. It likely was somewhere in Ohio, however,as the duo had been working out together for some time. Both players have acknowledged the existence of the track, but there aren't any plans for the track to be released to the public. The closest the song did come to being released is after Durant and his crew filmed the Warner Brothers film ‘Thunderstruck' and executive producer Eric Goodwin suggested using it in the film. Haynes says Durant didn't want to, and kept it private.

Will we ever hear the song? Maybe sometime later in the future, but not anytime soon with the two squaring off in the Finals.
