In the two and a half seasons that All-Star point guard Isaiah Thomas spent with the Boston Celtics, he had quickly become a fan and city-wide favorite due to the heart he displayed on the court.

Despite being traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the offseason, Thomas still believes that adoration and respect from the Celtics fans for him is everlasting.

Although there is a bit of sarcasm from Thomas' response, there is a bit of truth from what he said given that he was traded away. It wasn't his plan to move on from Boston as he had voiced a strong desire to re-sign with the team next summer in free agency.

On top of that, Thomas had played a tremendous part in helping lift the Celtics back into being one of the top teams in the league. In his short time with the team, he guided them to three straight playoff appearances including their first Eastern Conference appearance in five years.

He had also participated in a playoff game a day after his sister passed away, which is an extremely honorable and respectable act for any professional athlete to do after a major personal tragedy like that has occurred. Although he may be donning another uniform, the city of Boston will likely show him a tremendous amount of gratitude when he returns to play at TD Garden next season with the Cavaliers
